Two Weeks Old

Today the puppies are two weeks old.  They are changing rapidly!  Nose spots are turning darker, eyes are opening, and everyone is up off of their bellies walking around the whelping box.  They are big fat pigs who are discovering their mouths, yawning and licking, and enjoy tumbling over each other.  The puppies still sleep most of the time but when they are awake they are like drunken sailors lurching and stumbling through town.  They have the cutest little yelps and growls, and they have a layer of baby fat on them that necessitates us calling them little "sausages". 


Zoey's litter is being raised by our loving family right in the center of our living room.  We have a large whelping box to keep them safe and we give each of them tons of snuggles throughout the day.  Our three children, ages 7, 10, and 12, handle the puppies with care and give them lots of love and tickles.  We have found the tickle spots on everyone's belly.  Everyone has a different favorite which means each puppy gets special attention every day.
